We have improved one of the tools that you use most. From the 16th January, the Page tool will be even more user friendly and easier to use. Some of the improvements that we have made include:
1. Add internal link with upload file
There are two improvements to the "Add internal link".
The folder tree is now collapsed as default
It is now possible to upload a document directly from the "add internal link dialogue"
Clicking the 'Upload new file' will show the following screen.
You can now browse the computer, add a file, write a description and choose a new filename.
You will also be able to change the link text.
2. Full screen mode
There is now a full screen mode available in the Page tool. It will work in both the normal mode and edit mode and is great if you are using e.g. a smartboard.
Both the top menu and the left menu will be hidden to give the important content of the page focus.

In the new mini menu there will be a button to toggle it on and off.
If you leave the Page tool the button will remain, even outside of the Page tool to allow you to turn it off.
3. Enhanced YouTube embed/link
By adding a YouTube search from within Fronter, you can embed or link to YouTube content without having to navigate away from Fronter. This functionality will be available in the text editor, so that it can be used in all tools using the text editor, like the Page tool, Fronter document etc.
This is how you do it: In the text editor click on the icon for
Insert embeddable content.
The search result from YouTube will be displayed under the search field still within Fronter.
On the result page you can Preview a video by clicking on an
image.
The preview will then appear in its own highlighted box (light
box) in the forefront of the now slightly shaded out results page.
You can choose to either add the video into the page or create a
link to the video on the YouTube site. This can only be done from
the results page and not immediately after watching a preview, so
the preview box should be closed.
If you have already copied the embed code from YouTube to your clipboard, you can use the link called 'Embed' (which is placed under the search field).
This will take you to the embed-page where you can paste in the code. There is an icon of an eye that will let you preview. This icon will only appear when a valid code is pasted in.
Not all videos from YouTube can be embedded. This is because owners can mark the video as only viewable from within YouTube. These videos will only have a link available.
4. Newly designed Vote
The design of the vote tool is new.
The students will not see the result until they have
voted.
When a voter has chosen, the page will not reload as it used
to.
The admin interface however is the same as before with the exception of a new checkbox for showing or not showing students the results.
The owner will get to the result without having to take the vote first.
The Vote now has a max width, so that if you add a vote to a tall and wide container the content of the vote has the same design. This will make the vote easier to read when positioned inside a big container.
5. New mini menu
You will find the new mini menu up in the right corner in the Page tool. It will be launched with the following functions:
- Edit (icon=pen) (toggle on/off)
- Full screen mode (icon=box with arrows) (toggle on/off)
- Add page as a favourite (icon= hart) (toggle on/off)
- Settings (icon=wheel with dropdown)
- Add to Frontpage
- Background colour (only in edit mode for owner)
The full screen view and remove from favourites are the only new functionality in the mini menu.
6. Add a page as a favourite
The functionality to add and remove a page as a favourite is now available in the mini menu on pages.
The user can easily add or remove the current page as a
favourite.
Whereas before you had to navigate to the favourite container on
the Today page, and remove it from there.
Now if the user adds or removes the current page as a favourite a confirmation message is displayed.
