Fronter is a Service

Trained and experienced staff can project manage the implementation of your Fronter Platform. Our staff have experience in a range of implementation situations, from city wide roll out of Fronter, to individual implementation at a school or organisation.

Fronter offers full hosting services to customers, taking care of all data on our state of the art hosting centre (Application Service Provider). As a part of Fronter's Hosting Agreement, a comprehensive programme is provided including complete data security, virus control, and regular data backup (every 24 hours).

Fronter offers full hosting services for all Fronter installations. On customer request, it is possible for Fronter to be hosted externally. Fronter will facilitate this setup and continue to give support to users in this installation.

All Fronter customers sign a Service Level Agreement (SLA), which guarantees them access into a tight knit support structure. The SLA lays out the support a Fronter customer receives when becoming a Fronter user. This agreement can be customised according to any special needs the customer may have.

A Fronter team is available to take care of all Fronter setup procedures involved in activating your new Fronter installation. This set up can include services such as: Data transfer/Data synchronisation MIS integration Automatic user imports Single Sign On

The content migration tool gives teachers the ability to automatically convert and use courses from various sources, formats and learning platforms. The migration tool currently supports courses from IMS CP and Blackboard Learning System (Moodle support is currently under development).

When uploading IMS CP Packages to Fronter, users will be able to choose to convert the package to Common Cartridge format. The package will include a “startpage” – displaying links to each individual element in the package. Only web content which is included in the IMS CP package will be converted.

The Fronter interface is consistent with the IMS standard for import and export of data and metadata from Management Information Systems. This means simple transfer of user data and metadata between your Management Information System and Fronter, to create student/staff user groups.

Fronter offers integration with a variety of MIS systems and is continuously increasing its capabilities.

Single Sign On can be set up between the Fronter Platform and other software applications. With this feature, users can switch between different applications in use at the school/university, without having to enter multiple usernames and passwords

LDAP is directory service software that Fronter can use for remote authentication. The user passwords are not stored in Fronter, as Fronter contacts the LDAP server to check if the username and passwords are valid.

Easily move and synchronise data between Fronter and other applications or software. Fronter is compliant with SIF and other standards for data sharing, making it possible to transfer data between the different applications in use at your school or organisation. A user conference can be organised for a specific group of customers, or users within a country. The aim of this conference is to ensure that all users stay up-to-date with Fronter development and can share best practice examples with each other. These can be arranged in a variety of locations to suit the needs of the specific audience.

Conferences can be arranged over one or two days and include: Seminars Workshops/Best practice sessions Support labs for technical queries

Fronter can organise specific workshops during the period that the Fronter is being integrated and implemented at the school or organisation.

These workshops are aimed at all key staff involved in the Fronter implementation. Staff will have an opportunity to discuss any questions they have, or make known new needs that have developed. Together with the Fronter team, the project plan can be adjusted to ensure the needs of all parties are met.

Through the Fronter Academy, users can sign up for a variety of short training courses on tools and functionality offered as a part of Fronter.

Users/teachers/consultants can also take part in training courses, and receive official accreditation as Fronter trainers. Users may order customised training packages on specific tools or modules, as well as new release functionality.
