Customising folders - letting the students do it

Tools: Individual folder and Hand in.

This is a real time saver! When creating folders for group work, the teacher can easily leave most of the customizing process to the students.

Work space: Within a resource folder, create a folder for the students and tick the check box for "Individual folders". One folder for each student is generated automatically.

The students themselves can - by clicking "Edit properties" and further "Customise access" check from the participants list who should have access to the folder, and also change the folder's name. (The original student will still be the owner, but all can access, read, upload and contribute.)

Hand-in: If all groups have the same dead-line, create only one hand-in. When group work is to be submitted, it is sufficient for one of the students in the group to submit the document or file.

There is an option to click for "Customize owners" and then for "Group hand-in". The student checks for names of the participants.

The teacher can now comment and grade as usual. It is sufficient with one comment / grade. It will still be displayed individually for each student in Hand-in and Portfolio, as will the files / documents.
