Make a newspaper with editors & reporters
Form groups of three or four pupils, 3 are reporters, 1 is editor.
Every group brainstorms on name and topics for their newspaper, of course it is possible to form groups around certain themes.
The Editor's task is to create a page in Fronter within a group map (the teacher can prepare these) and to distribute tasks among his reporters, who write articles (as Fronter Articles) or (make and) collect photos and videos. All is placed in submaps. The editor adds all articles, photos, videos to his page.
Articles can be presented, read and commented by teacher and classmates by means of sticky notes (containing Tops & Tips).
A Fronter test can be used to evaluate the project, for example the division and execution of tasks within the groups.
In my experience as a history teacher this turned out to be an excellent form of project to teach/learn all kinds of skills: cooperation, discussion, photography, video editing, interviewing, writing and editing texts of different categories, delivering and reception of feedback, research etcetera.
About the author
What inspires you?
The endless possibilities that technology offers to be creative and share your ideas are a daily challenge for teachers like myself. I recognize this in many of my collegues who do the same within their field of knowledge. They inspire me too! And of course the kids who work with it and always come forward with surprising results.
