I use a Twitter account (@hpscience) to keep up to date with the latest science news. There are a huge number of new stories everyday, so we cannot expect students or teachers to wade through everything to find the relevant stuff. To help with this info overload I retweet stories (usually on the bus to or from school) with the unit code eg P1a or 9Jc. I then save these links in the appropriate GCSE, A level or KS3 science rooms we have on Fronter so they can be used by everyone. The unit codes are for the specifications we teach: Exploring Science for KS3, OCR Gateway for GCSE & SHAP Edexcel physics for A level.

Many tweets are about videos on YouTube, in which case I add them to our highamsparkscience YouTube playlists, which again are linked to from the relevant rooms on Fronter. The playlists can be used by anybody studying these courses & I am trying to encourage students & teachers to get involved by submitting their own suggestions.
